I was thinking about my images from Tbilisi, Georgia taken a few years ago showing doorways in the old town.  I love the old buildings and the signs of decay.

Each door telling its own story of lives lived inside and the people who have passed that way through the generations.  In the same way as a face reveals the passing of time, I'm fascinated by the texture and beauty of decay. To uncover something beautiful can be more rewarding than the obvious appeal of something new and fresh.
